# First Run Baseline

The first time a project uses Status Aging, the app asks how to treat existing old issues.

This avoids a common problem in established Jira projects: old active issues may have already spent weeks or months in their current status before the app was installed.

## Baseline Options

| Option                                      | What it does                                                                                               | Best for                                            |
| ------------------------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------- |
| **Monitor all active issues**               | Includes every active issue, including old issues that are already overdue.                                | Teams that want a full historical view immediately. |
| **Start fresh from today**                  | Starts counting old current statuses from setup time. Old overdue time does not create an immediate alert. | Most existing Jira projects.                        |
| **Only show issues updated in last N days** | Shows only active issues updated inside the selected window.                                               | Large projects with many stale issues.              |
| **Ignore issues created before a date**     | Excludes issues created before the selected date.                                                          | Teams that want to monitor only newer work.         |

## Changing Baseline Later

You can change baseline behavior later from **Settings -> Baseline mode**.

Changing baseline settings affects which issues appear in the project page and how old current statuses are treated during future scans.
